Opening: Tuesday, March 24th A thoughtful observation of the current world situation leads us to a clear conclusion: our world is going through a crisis of meaning as a result of a series of events that have marked it for decades. It is a state of disruption in which everything is governed by the laws of efficiency-driven reason and calculation, and through which human destiny is drastically constrained and our concrete perception of the universe is impoverished. Vis-à-vis this reality: how can we re-enchant the world? By what means? Through which actors? And to what end?
Above all, re-enchantment is sparked by a “magical” operation, capable of provoking transformation, wonder, and fascination. The creative act is responsible for this “magic,” which can contribute to reinventing the world through the power of imagination and expressive freedom. The artist mobilizes the power of their creative act to address the human condition in its tragic dimension, in its loss of meaning and motivation, constantly drawing on the power of imagination, the force of dreams, and the use of a ludic spirit.
“To re-enchant the world” entails endowing it with a dense network of meanings and sensations through which human beings can imagine themselves living a fulfilling experience. Our ambition is to offer to the public an artistic proposal that teaches us to rediscover a vital sense connected to more authentic, poetic, and enriching experiences.
This exhibition is presented as a new chapter within the Let’s Play project, featured in Buenos Aires, Riyadh, Madrid, and other cities in the BIENALSUR cartography.
