Amine Oulmakki
Amine Oulmakki is a Moroccan photographer and visual artist whose practice explores the intersection of photography, cinema and visual storytelling. From an early age he developed a close relationship with the photographic medium, inspired by the improvised darkroom created by his father at home, where he began his first experiments with analogue photography. He later pursued formal studies at the Institut Supérieur du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel (ISCA) in Rabat, expanding his interest in moving images and cinematic staging. Oulmakki’s work combines analogue and digital photography, polaroid processes and experimental techniques such as cyanotype, developing a visual language driven by introspection, intuition and experimentation. His projects address universal themes including family, the body, intimacy, life, death and the fleeting nature of time, often drawing inspiration from poetic moments of everyday life and the symbolic possibilities of nature. Throughout his career he has participated in exhibitions and biennials in cities such as Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Bamako, Arles, Paris, Berlin, London, New York, Tokyo and Sharjah, developing an artistic practice that bridges photography and cinema through a deeply personal perspective.
