Mouna Karimi

Mouna Karimi is an academic researcher specializing in the theory and practice of artistic creation, with a focus on Maghreb cinema. A graduate researcher at Aix-Marseille University (UFR ALL-SHS), she conducted her work within the Research Unit in Art Sciences (UR 3274) under the supervision of Prof. Thierry Roche. Her doctoral research examines representations of women in Moroccan cinema, addressing aesthetic, cultural, and political dimensions of film practices in Morocco. Her work bridges academic research and contemporary artistic production. Alongside her research, she works as a production coordinator in the development of cultural and film projects. She is also a university lecturer and documentary filmmaker, actively contributing to visual studies and contemporary cinema practices.
