Let’s Play - Let's Play in the World. Let's Play in the Collection

Opening: Thursday,  November 27th, 1 p.m

The concept of “game” and its analogy with “life” underlie this exhibition, which is—in turn—a special chapter within an expanded curatorial project presented as part of BIENALSUR 2025, also taking place in Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Riyadh.

This project draws on a singular literary reference: Hopscotch by Julio Cortázar, who— borrowing the title of the traditional game—proposed other ways of reading through his novel and, in doing so, introduced a new logic and defined a new type of reader.

In this chapter of Let’s Play, designed for the National Museum of Decorative Arts, the project was conceived to engage in a dialogue with the collection and invite visitors to rediscover it through a series of interventions in the permanent galleries.

To play is “to engage the body”, which is why this exhibition embraces the challenge of performing the spaces in new ways. From the entrance, with Marta Minujín’s tunnel, the exhibition invites visitors to enter another dimension.

This is an invitation to revisit, through contemporary art, the narrative proposed by the museum; at the same time, it offers an opportunity to get to know and reflect on contemporary art.
