Marta Minujín

Argentine artist Marta Minujín is a pioneer in conceptual and participatory art. She studied in Buenos Aires and Paris, where she created her first performance in 1963. In 1965, she co-created La Menesunda at the Di Tella Institute. With a Guggenheim Fellowship, she moved to New York and worked with Allan Kaprow and Wolf Vostell. In the 1970s and 80s, she created iconic participatory monuments like The Parthenon of Books and The Obelisk Lying Down. Her work has been shown at MoMA, the Guggenheim, MALBA, Pompidou, among others. In 2023, she had retrospectives in New York and São Paulo. She lives in Buenos Aires.
