What Will We Do with what Remains of Time?

Opening: Thursday July 17th, 6 p.m.

This exhibition, resulting from the collaboration between the Valparaíso Contemporary Art Biennial and BIENALSUR, brings together ten visual artists from diverse territories to collectively reflect on time: its use, its loss, and its transformative potential. In a present marked by acceleration, urgency, and exhaustion, art becomes a space to pause and think.

The works—ranging from installations and performance to video and digital art—offer a critical perspective on how time has been commodified, trapping us in a meaningless inertia. In response, the exhibition poses an ethical question: can we envisage other ways of inhabiting time, beyond the logic of productivity?

From the South and towards the future, this project invites us to rethink the present through memory, sustainability, and care. Here, art becomes a sensitive form of resistance against the global crisis—a space to reimagine what we will do with what remains of time.
