Mariela Leal

Mariela Leal was born in Mendoza, Argentina, and currently lives in Chile. She studied at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo and earned her degree in Arts from the Universidad Católica de Chile. Her work explores childhood themes through soft sculpture, photography, and video. She has participated in major events like the Mercosur Biennial (Bolivia) and the 2015 Graphic Arts Triennial in Sofia, Bulgaria. At MAC Dragão do Mar (Brazil), she exhibited multiple times and won the award for best installation in 2009. Her work is held in collections such as Museo del Barro and Fundación Migliorisi (Paraguay), Malba and Macro Rosario (Argentina), and MAC Fortaleza. She has shown at international art fairs including Pinta NY, Art Basel, Art Shanghai, and Scope Basel.
