BIENALSUR 2025 has inaugurated in Paris and Milan

In Paris, the BIENALSUR 2025 program resumed on October 18th and 19th at CENTQUATRE Km 11051 of the biennial. Carte blanche to BIENALSUR was the title of the Focus BIENALSUR in relation to the theme of New Found Illusions within the framework of Némo - International Digital Arts Biennal of the Île-de-France Region.The program featured the screening of three video art pieces: Conversation Piece by Gabriela Golder (ARG), Home by Ali Kazma (TUR), and Vumbi by Kapwani Kiwanga (FRA/CAN). Selected by Diana Wechsler Artistic Director of BIENALSUR, each work revisits the concept of utopia as a possible path toward reconnecting with illusions — the central theme of this edition of the Nemo Festival.

On October 22th, BIENALSUR inaugurated Invocations. Animal Presences at Fabbrica del Vapore Km 11188 in Milan. Invocations is a curatorial project that explores the relationship between human and non-human bodies through a series of exhibitions, curated by Benedetta Casini (ITA). Animal Presences features works that propose alliances, hybridizations, and other possible forms of connection between humans and animals. Participating artists are Carla Granauer (ARG), Valentina Furian (ITA), Helena Hladilová (CZE/ITA), Calixto Ramírez (MEX), Lia Chaia (BRA), Allora & Calzadilla (USA/CUB), Jonathas de Andrade (BRA), Michela de Mattei (ITA), Gaia de Megni (ITA), Beckbaatar Enkhtur (ITA/MNG), Bruna Esposito (ITA), Elena Mazzi (ITA), and Marta Roberti (ITA).
