BIENALSUR has arrived to SAUDI ARABIA for the second time with an interactive and poetic exhibition dedicated to new ways of experiencing reality. Installations, objects, videos and photographs of artists from a dozen countries are presented at Echoes. A World between the Analogue and the Virtual, in the JAX District of Riyadh, until November 15.
Curated by the Artistic Director of BIENALSUR, Diana Wechsler, who was present at the inauguration together with the General Director of BIENALSUR and Rector of UNTREF, Aníbal Jozami, and under the curatorial axis Modes of inhabiting/Fluid constellations, the exhibition takes the acoustic phenomena of echo and reverberation as poetic metaphors for the ways we naturally move in the world between analog and virtual situations.
ECHOES brings together the productions of Ahaad Alamoudi (SAU), Darren Almond (GBR), Daniah Alsaleh (SAU), Joël Andrianomearisoa (MDG), Hugo Aveta (ARG), Cécile Bart (FRA), Daniel Canogar (ESP), Tanja Deman (CRO), Sève Favre (CHE), Lina Gazzaz (SAU), Gabriela Golder (ARG), Valérie Jouve (FRA), Chris Larson (USA), Anaïs Lelièvre (FRA), Sujin Lim (KOR), Rafael Lozano-Hemmer (MEX), Matilde Marin (ARG), Angelika Markul (POL), Filwa Nazer (SAU), Tony Oursler (USA), Muhannad Shono (SAU) and Carola Zech (ARG).
The inauguration took place on Friday October the 15th, with the attendance of the ambassadors of Argentina and France in Saudi Arabia, Guillermo Nielsen and Ludovic Pouille, respectively; Saudi authorities; and the artists Cécile Bart, Lina Gazzaz, Muhannad Shono and Carola Zech.
