PARCOURS CULTUREL. BETWEEN ART AND NATURE, an unexpected and restless exhibition, curated by Diana Wechsler, BIENALSUR's Artistic Director, takes over as from today -and until March 2022- the public space in the city of Crans-Montana. Works by Swiss artists Denis Savary and Katja Schenker, Colombian Iván Argote, Argentine Agustina Woodgate and Franco-Argentine Pablo Reinoso, open an invitation to a tour of the Swiss city to reflect on the tension between nature and culture, nature and society. These are works made with different environmentally-friendly materials, a concern that runs through the entire Parcours Culturel BIENALSUR Crans-Montana 2021 where works by Christian de Belair and Marie Orensanz (2019 edition) are also presented, along with a tribute to Christian Boltanski, the recently deceased French artist who was one of BIENALSUR's first accomplices. “Crans-Montana is a place where the relationship between the natural landscape and human creation occurs in an absolutely unique way. Due to interference or a sudden presence, the presentation of works of art in these spaces around a circuit, specially designed for the city, transforms it into a new space”, Wechsler pointed out in the press conference held on the morning of Wednesday, August 4. The artists Katja Schenker, Denis Savary and Agustina Woodgate; the President of the BIENALSUR - Crans-Montana Association, Catherine Bellan; Melanie Rey, from the local team; the Director of Fondation Opale, Gautier Chiarini; and the General Director of BIENALSUR, Aníbal Jozami, were present at the inauguration.
