Residency: September 12th to 22th
Exhibition opening: September 25th , 2 p.m.
See Opening Program below
This territorial residency organised jointly by BIENALSUR and CECREA proposes an unprecedented experience of creation and exchange. Fostering a dialogue between local knowledge and international artistic practices, the project brings together contemporary art, territory, and childhoods to activate new forms of perception and collective learning.
The residency invites five artists to develop creative processes in interaction with children and young people from the archipelago, following a participatory approach. Walks, workshops, interventions, and classroom experiences allow for the exploration of the local landscape, history, and ways of life. In doing so, the project fosters an art practice connected to everyday life and the environment.
CECREA brings its pedagogical approach, based on experimentation and empowering young people; and BIENALSUR, its global presence. This collaboration gives rise to a process that encourages autonomy, imagination and the appropriation of the territory as a living space.
The residency concludes with a collaborative exhibition that showcases the processes developed, open to the community and conceived as an extension of the territorial work: a space to highlight the questions, expressions, and connections arising along the way.
