BIENALSUR 2025 Educational meetings

History does nothing, theoretical-practical seminar with Alán Carrasco. Monday, August 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Arts, desire and disobedience, talk with Núria Güell. Tuesday, August 5, 6 p.m.

Núria Güell and Alan Carrasco will be present in Córdoba, engaging in a series of actions and presentations that extend their critical and situated practice. Within the framework of the Centro Cultural España Córdoba and the exhibition The Unfaithful Copy at the Museo Evita Palacio Ferreyra, the artists will showcase interventions that blend into the layers of everyday life, triggering shifts in spectators' gazes and perceptions. Rather than illustrating conflicts, their proposals aim to challenge the structures of power that shape our lives through subtle, incisive or outright uncomfortable gestures. The actions in Córdoba interweave with the local context, in a drift that combines observation, intervention and contact with reality. Sitting somewhere between performance, documentary and gesture, Güell and Carrasco explore modes of minimal insubordination: interruptions that disrupt the usual flow of things and give rise to alternative ways of perception. Rather than a show, they create moments of estrangement and deviation that encourage us to reconsider what habit has rendered natural. In an age flooded with images and discourse, Exercises in Insubordination opts for precise actions, minimal displacements and shifts in meaning that open new cracks in the everyday without any sense of solemnity.
