Let's Play. (de)structure, the Game

Opening: Thursday July 17th, 12 p.m The game begins with the question: "How do you imagine your life in ten years and what do you need to achieve it?" and ends with the creation of a collaborative and participatory structure. (de)structure is a project of collaborative, participatory, and process-oriented creation that, through the game, invites groups of people to engage in dialogue about the fundamental values of life. The game consists of the collective formation of a structure made up of coloured pieces, each of which is assigned a value linked to goals and objectives that imaginatively symbolise an optimal state in life. Playing (de)structure, chance reveals how individual decisions impact the collective and vice versa; the structure grows or shrinks, pieces are replaced, tension builds as the minutes pass, and collective negotiation becomes necessary to decide what to name, add, or remove. Chance plays a role, but ultimately the participants decide. With (de)structure, individual intentions and experiences dissolve into collective decisions, while art becomes an opportunity to imagine the community’s future together. Situated halfway between art, play, and social research, the project aligns with the principles of social cartography by encouraging horizontal forms of sociability on a micro scale.
