For Tadeusz Kantor, art offers itself as an answer to the reality of our world, but never its reflection. My project, called I Am Never Coming Back, pays tribute to one of the outstanding artists of the 20th century, and revisits the influence of his practice on a younger generation of artists. Articulated around the presentation of his work The Dead Class, the exhibition space is transformed, as is the scene in Kantor’s work, into both an answer to reality and a space of resistance and emancipation. The project will be built around an edition launched on the day of the inauguration, to be distributed among the spectators, hanging in the exhibition space. In describing the heritage of Kantor, the publication will examine his techniques and the subjects he deals with. The project is the extension of my research which began over three years ago and refers to the relationship between art and theater.
