Performance: Sunday September 21th, from 3:30 pm to 5 pm
Materials for De-construction is a sound intervention that expands from the urban environment into private spaces. Drawing on a poetic sound piece, María Rosario Alfaro and Juan Pablo Pettoruti use an egg /scrap seller’s truck as an aesthetic and poetic device to create a collage within the city's soundscape.
The proposal aims to establish a connection between social concepts and the everyday sounds of street vendors. As a means of decentralising language, poetry blends into the daily sounds of a street vendor, who has historically incorporated musicality into his persuasive sales pitch.
The performance is structured around texts resulting from workshops with local participants. This makes the mobile sound intervention site-specific, addressing current issues through the interplay of variation and repetition of texts and discourses. As part of BIENALSUR and the activities of La Gran Paternal, the performance highlights the social players, features and landscapes that characterise this quarter of the city of Buenos Aires.
