Lights of my City

Opening: Friday, August 8th, 5 p.m The Castagnino Museum becomes a platform for three luminous interventions that occupy its exterior with text. These are signs, phrases, and words that shine or flicker—sometimes clearly, sometimes barely revealed in the shadows. These works are not housed inside the museum; rather, they surround it, comment on it, and project it outward towards the city.

A historical piece engages in dialogue with two contemporary works in a play of times and registers. Some offer poetic declarations or fragments that open up meaning; others ironize institutional issues or bring visibility to concrete concerns such as artists’ fees. All transform language into visible matter by shifting the museum’s voice into the public space. Here, light serves as a vehicle, not as ornament: it illuminates what often remains marginalized and gives shape to what is often left unsaid. This is not about grand spectacles or visual effects; rather, it is about precise gestures that turn text into a presence, the sign into a form of speech, and the museum’s façade into a place where reading is also seeing.
