In 1993, Pistoletto began a new phase of work that developed along two lines, both of which had already been marked in One Hundred Exhibitions in October (1976): the creation of a series of works by the artist, and the invitation to others to create their own art show. Segno Arte de Pistoletto is a figure formed by the intersection of two triangles representing the human body with arms raised and legs open. The new work made for BIENALSUR is composed of 8 elements, each one of them represented by a Segno Arte door. The doors are arranged in a circular space accessible to the public. The side of the door facing the centre of the circle is covered by a mirror, while on the other side appears the phrase: "Difference of love", in eight different languages. There are seven Segno Arte doors that are placed in different exhibition spaces throughout the city of Buenos Aires, generating a connection between them.
