Born in Villa Cañas, Santa Fe, in 1988, tAlexis Minkiewicz grew up in Avellaneda and Lanús, Buenos Aires. He trained at the National University of Arts (UNA) and honed his craft in the workshop of Dolores Casares and through clinics with renowned artists like Ernesto Ballesteros and Eduardo Basualdo.
His career highlights include his debut solo exhibition El Doble es Uno (2013) at Galería Aldo de Sousa in Buenos Aires. In 2015, he participated in the prestigious Port Tonic Art Center residency in France and the Haroldo Conti Grant. In 2021, he earned acclaim by winning a national public sculpture competition with Posible retrato de María Remedios del Valle por Louis Yupanqui.
The artist has showcased his work at major biennials such as BIENALSUR (2021), Curitiba Biennial (2019), and Santa Cruz de la Sierra Biennial (2016). Notable exhibitions include Rep[úb]lica at MArCo in La Boca (2019) and Erótica Laboral in Catalonia, Spain (2022). His sculptures blend historical research with contemporary aesthetics, making him a leading figure in Argentinian public art.
