Marc Vilanova studied at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He also graduated in Musicology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he also obtained a postgraduate degree in Sound Art. He has also completed a Master's degree in Music Performance at the Hochshule für Musik in Basel.
He has received numerous grants and awards and has participated in various residencies. His works have been presented at festivals around the world in countries such as Japan, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Iran, Taiwan, South Korea and Russia, among others.
In the framework of BIENALSUR 2023, his work will be on view in the exhibition Beyond Sound, at the Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano Fernández Blanco, in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and in the exhibition Imagine at SAMOCA (First Museum of Contemporary Art) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In Buenos Aires on 28th July he will be offering a workshop at Art Lab: Digital control in installations, sculptures and performances. A practical workshop that explores the possibilities of digital programming in fields such as installation, sculpture and the performing arts. And on 1 August at 6 p.m. he will give a talk at the Centro Cultural de España in Buenos Aires.
