Peripheral practices

Peperiphery practices is developed successively in Matanza - Riachuelo and Salado Basins and Guayas River Basin. The host cities are cheLA (Latin American Experimental Hypermedia Center), CRA (RURAL ART CENTER) and MAAC (Museum of Anthropology and Contemporary Art).

Peperiphery practices is a simultaneous series of drifts carried out by a group of artists, cultural theorists and technologists from Argentina, Ecuador and Switzerland. Each member proposes a line of observation, action and registration that weaves a collective cartography around the periphery. The drifts agree on a starting point, 2 meeting nodes and an arrival point, these places gather the collective to share the processes both within the group and in public instances.
There is a constant along the drifts and it is the system of significant bodies of water that constitute the connective tissue of each of the areas where the experiments are carried out. At the same time they trace a progressive passage between ultra-urban, suburban and rural geographies that unfolds in the Matanza-Riachuelo and Salado basins in Argentina and the Guayas River basin in Ecuador.
Mobility is conceived as a structural vector, using exclusively self-propelled means - walking, bicycling, rowing - thus enabling passage on unplanned roads. These displacements constitute a performative tool to maneuver in the superimposition of expressive layers accumulated in the territories.

Peperiphery practices
generates an integrated set of mobile digital tools for synchronous documentation and interpretative expression. During the drift experiences, a portal is generated through an installation that updates in real time the records that are being produced.
