Little Kingdoms

Little Kingdoms is a collaborative project by visual artist Nora Correas and poetess María Negroni. It is a book-object with 25 poems written by Negroni and inspired by 25 images of objects created by Correas. Their work sought to establish a dialogue between different forms of expression, namely, the word and the image. Thus, both artists went through a territory that is virtually “off-camera”, a space-time where the unseen, the unheard and the unspoken prevail, and where the archaic drives converge with the unrepresentable. By revisiting childhood taboo scenes with their catalogue of painful joys and their archive of cruel longed-for games, the work focuses on the frail borders between the real, the insufficient and the wish, which represent the very core of the question about the human.
