4.33 meters is the title of the mobile wooden object that Paulo Nenflidio presents in the MAT hall. This enormous pendulum moves in a continuous, regular way, reaching in each swing the limit of ramming a delicate glass of water that stands in its path. This tension gives the piece its character, which also completes its meaning in the reference to the musical work by the American composer John Cage in 1952. The score has a single indication in the word "Tacet", by which the performer of any instrument knows that he must remain silent and not play his instrument for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. References from contemporary art to modern art are usually part of the artists' repertoire of materials, in this case Nenflidio works like Cage the disturbing tension; in space the former, in time the latter.
