Inspired by the tradition of modernist abstraction, Dipierro builds pieces that establish random dialogues with the space around them. Thus, the forms projected by architect Oscar Niemeyer at the Getulio Vargas Foundation become the perfect stage for Dipierro’s Natatorium, a series of four installations/situations that allude to an acquatic complex, including a springboard, a resting area, swimming lanes and a changing room.
It is an irreverent, lively and emotional homage to the great architect and, essentially, to the utopian aspirations of an all-embracing art that integrates art, design, architecture and urbanism without any distinctions or hierarchies.
