Alexandra Gelis is a Colombian-Venezuelan artist whose multidisciplinary work explores ecologies, landscapes, and the relationships between plants and humans. Her research-based practice includes film, photography, and interactive sound. With her concept of “Migrated Plants”, she investigates the role of plants as political allies in the sociopolitical landscape. Gelis has exhibited internationally in prominent institutions like The Walker Art Center, Bienal del Sur, and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Montevideo, and has received prestigious fellowships and awards such as the Canada Council for the Arts.
