Susana Torres
Susana Torres (Lima, 1969) is a self-taught artist with studies in Art History, Aesthetics, Cosmetology, and Artistic Makeup. She has gained international recognition, notably participating in the VI Havana Biennial (1997) and the National Biennials of Lima in 1997 and 2000. Torres is a founding member of the Colectivo Sociedad Civil. Throughout her career, she has worked on the artistic direction and visual conceptualization of renowned Peruvian films such as "Madeinusa" (2005), "The Milk of Sorrow" (2007-2008), "The Bad Intentions" (2011), and "The Grandfather" (2014). For her work on "The Milk of Sorrow," she received recognition from the Peruvian Union of Filmmakers in 2010. In 2012, she won the Coral Prize for Best Art Direction at the 31st Havana International Film Festival, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in Peruvian cinema and visual arts.
