Liliana Maresca
Liliana Maresca (1951-1994) was a key Argentine artist in the 1980s, known for her multidisciplinary approach. Her work spanned painting, sculpture, installations, and performances, blending neo-Dada, minimalism, and conceptual art with influences from alchemy. She gained international recognition for her activism and critique of power structures, social and gender-based violence.
In 2017, MAMBA presented her retrospective El ojo Avizor, and in 2016, MALBA highlighted her piece Available Space. Her work is part of international collections, including the Museo Reina Sofía and MALBA. She participated in key exhibitions like Radical Women at The Hammer Collection, Los Angeles. Her legacy remains foundational in contemporary art, particularly in the context of Latin American feminist art.
