Elda Cerrato

Elda Cerrato (1930-2023) was an Italian-Argentine artist renowned for her work in painting, drawing, printmaking, installations, and conceptual art. Exiled twice, she lived in Caracas and Buenos Aires, where she built a prolific artistic and academic career. She participated in over 150 group exhibitions and held 21 solo shows in prestigious museums, including Reina Sofía (Madrid), MALBA, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Caracas. She was a professor and researcher at UBA and the Central University of Venezuela. In 2019, she received Argentina’s National Award for Artistic Career.
