Diana Gardeneira
Diana Gardeneira (Guayaquil, 1981) is an Ecuadorian-Costa Rican visual artist specializing in textile installations, sustainable fashion, and activism. She has won awards at the Salón de Julio (2019) and Salón de Octubre (2018). Her work explores gender and social justice, particularly through her project Yo sí te hago todo, exhibited in Japan, Argentina, and Spain.
In 2024, she presents Street Poetic Apparitions in Quito, featuring her upcycled fashion line NMTKS (Don’t touch me). She will also participate in a group exhibition at the Centro Cultural de España in Costa Rica.
As a queer and feminist activist, she has collaborated with Threads that Fight (Japan), leading workshops on art and protest. She is also the lead singer of the punk band Dulces Sueños and co-founder of La Gallina Malcriada. Her work has been exhibited in international galleries and museums.
