Antoine D’Agata

Antoine d’Agata, a French photographer and filmmaker, was born in Marseille in 1961. A full member of Magnum Photos since 2008, he has documented social violence through migration, poverty, and marginalization. He studied at the International Center of Photography in New York under Nan Goldin and Larry Clark. His work has been exhibited in international museums and published in nearly 50 books. Key works include Mala Noche (1998), Anticorps (2013), and VIRUS (2020), a visual chronicle of the Covid-19 pandemic. He has also directed films such as White Noise (2019), featuring testimonies from 24 women. D’Agata is known for his raw, visceral approach, exploring contemporary violence from political and social dimensions to the realities of nightlife and marginalization.
