Luis Bernardo Oyarzún

Bernardo Oyarzún (b. 1963, Los Muermos, Chile) is a Chilean visual artist whose work delves into history, territory, and popular culture through installations, photography, and performance. His work frequently incorporates his own body and biography to reflect on mestizaje and his Mapuche heritage, questioning the political and aesthetic standards that dominate Chilean society. He earned a degree in Fine Arts with a focus on painting and printmaking from the University of Chile (1988). Over the years, his work has gained recognition both in Chile and abroad, notably representing Chile at the 2017 Venice Biennale.
