Edgardo Giménez

Argentine artist Edgardo Giménez (b. 1942) is a major figure in pop art, known for his work in painting, sculpture, graphic design, and architecture. His bold, experimental style emerged from his background in advertising graphics, which shaped his visual language. Since the 1960s, his work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, and he created iconic urban interventions such as ¿Por qué son tan geniales?. He also worked on the branding for Teatro San Martín and Teatro Colón, and his architectural projects include Jorge Romero Brest’s house, featured at MoMA in New York. His artistic legacy has been celebrated in multiple retrospectives, and he remains active in the contemporary art scene. He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
