Leo Battistelli
Leo Battistelli (Rosario, Argentina, 1972) is an artist, sculptor, and object designer currently based in Rio de Janeiro. A key figure of the 1990s generation linked to the Centro Cultural Rojas, his work blends natural materials—ceramics, glass, earth, and water—into poetic and refined installations. He studied at UNR and trained with sculptor Leo Tavella, receiving grants from the National Arts Fund of Argentina. His work has been shown in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, the U.S., UK, and France. He received the First Prize from Fundación Federico Klemm (2002) and the Emerging Artist Award (2000), and participated in art fairs like arteBA, where he was selected for the Petrobras Prize (2004) and inaugurated Barrio Joven Chandon (2013).
