Duygu Nazli Akova

Duygu Nazlı Akova (Istanbul, 1981) is a visual artist and researcher specializing in photography, video, and installation. Her work explores human rights, social inequality, immigration, and consumerism, reconfiguring documentary and found imagery into thought-provoking visual narratives. A PhD candidate in Art and Design at Yıldız Technical University and a professor at Marmara University, she has developed a hybrid artistic approach, manipulating archival images, historical documents, and journalistic photography to create works that challenge viewer perception. With a career that bridges academic research and artistic experimentation, Akova is establishing herself as a key figure in critical contemporary art.
