María Ruido

María Ruido (Spain, 1967) is an artist, filmmaker, and researcher. Her practice combines video, audiovisual essay, and photography to examine the politics of memory, labour, and gender representation. She has developed projects at institutions such as the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M), and the Museo Reina Sofía. Her series Plan Rosebud and La memoria interior address Francoism and migration through archive and oral testimony. She is a member of the collective Zemos98 and has taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universitat de Barcelona. Her work has been shown at international festivals and biennials of film and contemporary art across Europe and Latin America.
