Santiago Porter
Santiago Porter (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1971) is an internationally renowned visual artist, recognized with awards like the Guggenheim Fellowship (2002) and the Petrobras – Buenos Aires Photo Award (2008). He has published books such as Pieces (2003), The Absence (2007), and Mist (2017), and exhibited in solo and group shows worldwide. His work is part of major collections, including MALBA, MNBA, MAMBA, and the J. Paul Getty Collection. Porter’s practice explores the relationship between the appearance of things and their history, capturing the imprint of existence in materialities. In projects like Mist, he portrays buildings and landscapes, while The Absence addresses the AMIA bombing. In Pieces, he documents his personal life through photographs of houses he has lived in. His work reveals the invisible, what lies beyond the everyday gaze.
