Asuka Shikiba

Artist born in 1993 in Chiba, Japan. She earned her Master’s degree in Ceramics from the Department of Crafts at the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021, after completing her Bachelor’s degree there in 2018. From 2019 to 2020, she was an exchange student at Anadolu University. In 2018, she received the Mitsubishi Estate Award for her graduation work “Wa (Circle)”. Her artistic practice focuses on contemporary ceramics, exploring form, space, and tradition through experimental approaches. She held a solo exhibition, “Space” (Gallery TK2, Tokyo, 2022), and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Japan and Turkey, including Play! With Arts (2025), Distance (2024), Memory of Tradition (2024), Art Summer Festival (Mitsukoshi / Tokyo University of the Arts, 2024), and Seven Ceramics (Tokyo). Her work reflects on materiality, cultural memory, and the evolving language of ceramic art in contemporary practice.
