Monika Czyżyk

Monika Czyzyk is a Polish-born contemporary media artist working across moving image, performance, installation, and virtual reality. Her interdisciplinary practice explores ecological imaginaries, post-human subjectivities, ritual, and speculative futures, examining how technology, embodiment, and environmental consciousness intersect in contemporary art. Through immersive installations and collaborative processes, she investigates memory, planetary ethics, and more-than-human forms of coexistence. She holds a BFA/MFA in Time and Space from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki, and completed exchange studies in Media Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. She also earned an MFA in Painting from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart, Heidelberger Kunstverein, Malmö Art Museum, OCAT Biennale (Shenzhen), WRO Biennale, and Fotomuseum Winterthur. She has received grants from Arts Promotion Centre Finland, Kone Foundation, and Frame Finland, and has undertaken residencies at Akademie Schloss Solitude and IASPIS.
