Lihuel González

Lihuel González (1986, Buenos Aires) is a photographer and audiovisual artist. Her work explores language issues and how each language shapes the way we think about society. Through audiovisual installations, she investigates the interaction of languages, the distortions of virtual translators, and the communication possibilities offered by music and dance. Trained as a Director of Photography at the Universidad del Cine, González has exhibited in institutions such as Gachi Prieto Gallery (Buenos Aires), Dallas Museum of Art (USA), and Povvera (Berlin). She has received awards such as Third Prize at the 108th National Salon of Visual Arts (2019) and Mención Premio Itaú a las Artes Visuales (2020). González has participated in residencies like DE LICEIRAS 18 (Porto, Portugal, 2019) and BIM (Buenos Aires, 2017). Since 2014, she has been a professor at the University of Buenos Aires and directs Estudio Sur Fotografía.
