Cristina Mejías
Cristina Mejías (Jerez de la Frontera, 1986) is a Spanish visual artist based in Madrid. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, and video, focusing on concepts such as time, memory, language, and oral tradition. Through spatial and narrative dispositifs, she creates situations that examine how stories are transmitted and how knowledge shifts as it moves between bodies, objects, and territories.
Trained in Fine Arts with further studies in Madrid, Berlin, and Dublin, Mejías has developed an international career with solo and group exhibitions in museums, art centers, and galleries across Europe and Latin America. Her work is included in public and private collections and has been supported by awards and residencies that reinforce her long-term research into listening, repetition, and translation processes.
Cristina Mejías’ work offers both sensory and conceptual experiences, positioning contemporary sculpture in dialogue with narrative structures, architecture, and historiography.
