Sara Brahim
Sarah Brahim (born 1992, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) is a Saudi contemporary artist and choreographer working across performance, movement-based installation, and time-based art. Her practice merges contemporary dance, visual art, and embodied research, exploring themes of memory, perception, ritual, and the politics of presence. Drawing from both scientific and choreographic training, she develops immersive works that investigate the body as archive and site of transformation.
Brahim holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from the London Contemporary Dance School (2016). She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med and Community Health Education from Portland State University in collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University. She previously trained at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance.
Her work has been presented at Athr Gallery (Jeddah), Hafez Gallery (Jeddah), Paragon Art Gallery (Portland), and at the Time-Based Art Festival organized by the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art. In 2021 she performed at the Shubbak Festival in London and exhibited at Misk Art Foundation in Riyadh.
She has received numerous grants and residencies, including the Misk Art Institute Residency (Riyadh), the American Dance Festival Studio Residency (Durham), and the Alembic Artist Residency at Performance Works NW.
