Martinka Bobrikova
Martinka Bobrikova is a multimedia artist working across performance, installation, video and sound. She studied Scenography at the Academy of Fine Art in Rome, Fine Art at the University of La Laguna, and graduated from Malmö Art Academy within the Nordic Sound Art Programme.
Martinka Bobrikova & Oscar de Carmen have worked as an artist duo since 2005. Their interdisciplinary practice operates at the intersection of contemporary art, social ecology and institutional critique. They examine the relationship between economic systems, contemporary biocenosis and cultural power structures, proposing new social ecosystems through collaborative and research-based platforms.
They founded Nomad AIR, a nomadic residency program focused on hospitality and alternative artistic exchange; co-founded Future Utopia Community Key in Uddebo (Sweden); initiated the anti-symposium IECES on community and environmental sociology; and co-direct The Union (Oslo), an artist-run mediation and cultural activism platform.
Their work has been presented internationally and developed through residencies such as ISCP (New York) and Jatiwangi Art Factory (Indonesia). Their practice connects contemporary art, sustainability, participation and transnational artistic frameworks.
