Tobibi Bienz

Tobibi Bienz is an independent Swiss artist working across performing, conceptual, and visual arts. Their practice operates at the blurred edges and friction points between disciplines, between art and politics, and between visible structures and underlying social superstructures. Through performance, conceptual research, and visual dispositifs, Bienz examines power dynamics, structural tensions, and alternative modes of collective imagination. Their work challenges fixed genres and institutional boundaries, creating hybrid formats that merge artistic experimentation with political engagement. By addressing media representation, public space, and embodied experience, Bienz develops projects that function as critical interventions within specific socio-political contexts. They are a founding member of #BigDreams collective in Zurich, a collective that produces works and actions addressing structural racism within Switzerland’s media landscape. Through collaborative and activist-driven artistic strategies, Bienz contributes to expanding the dialogue between contemporary art and social justice.
