Diego Masera
Diego Masera has developed his artistic practice since graduating from the Royal College of Art in London. His work centers on intercultural exploration, investigating how materials, puzzle-like shapes, and visual structures can generate reflections on territory, memory, and temporality.
His interest in how societies express culture has led him to live and work across several continents. Each body of work emerges from direct engagement with new social environments and cross-cultural encounters. In his paintings, he reconfigures objects, blends textures, and layers abstraction, expanding the pictorial surface into a three-dimensional field that merges painting and sculpture.
Masera’s artistic research focuses on color, materiality, and surface, challenging conventional notions of representation. Drawing from years of residence in Africa, he incorporates reflections on African imagery, fostering cultural dialogue and new modes of perception. His work creates an expanded space where art becomes a material and sensory experience.
