Rex Chouk

RexChouk (b. 1990, Saudi Arabia) is a visual artist born in Saudi Arabia and currently based in New York City. Working primarily through painting and mixed media, his practice engages with the visual language of global pop culture. Through characters, symbols, and expressions drawn from contemporary iconography and urban slang, his work offers a critical commentary on contemporary social systems and cultural dynamics. RexChouk’s paintings combine elements of popular imagery, graphic symbols, and media references to construct visual narratives that reflect emotions, current affairs, and social concerns. Central to his artistic approach is the recurring question “But Why?”, a concept that underpins his work and encourages reflection, critical awareness, and self-questioning in relation to contemporary culture. As an emerging artist, RexChouk has participated in both solo and group exhibitions in New York and London, presenting the But Why project in venues such as Walton Fine Arts Gallery (London) and Hole Gallery (New York).
