Colectivo LASTESIS (Daffne Valdés Vargas, Paula Cometa Stange y Sibila Sotomayor Van Rysseghem)
LASTESIS is a Chilean feminist collective founded in 2018 by Daffne Valdés Vargas, Paula Cometa Stange, Sibila Sotomayor Van Rysseghem, and Lea Cáceres (no longer a member). Interdisciplinary, intersectional, and trans-inclusive, they use performance to translate feminist theory into public action. They rose to global fame with A Rapist in Your Path, first performed in Valparaíso in 2019, and later replicated in over 200 cities worldwide. Their work denounces patriarchy, state violence, neoliberalism, and extractivism. Key performances include Patriarchy and Capital: A Criminal Alliance (2018), RESISTANCE (2021), and Songs for Cooking (2023). They have participated in festivals and events across the Americas and Europe. Honors include the Jaime Castillo Velasco Award (2020) and being named to the TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people (2020).
