Yann Gross

Yann Gross is a Swiss visual artist working across photography, video, and installation. His work investigates how identities are shaped through images and how environments are transformed by human action. A graduate of ECAL, his artistic practice draws on long-term projects in South America and Africa, including reforestation in Brazil, workshops with Guaraní and Cocama communities, and research into Amazonian plant-based pigments for photographic printing. His exhibitions include Rencontres d’Arles, Photo Elysée (Lausanne), Aperture Foundation (New York), and FOMU (Antwerp). He has published Horizonville, Kitintale, Le Livre de la Jungle, and Aya, and received awards such as the Luma Dummy Book Award, Descubrimientos PHotoEspaña, and the Prix culturel vaudois.
