Gaudêncio Cabral

Gaudêncio Cabral (Agau) is a visual artist from Los Palos, Timor-Leste, currently based in Dili. Winner of the II Visual Art Award Fundação Oriente, announced in May 2025, his practice focuses primarily on painting across diverse surfaces. Agau studied Interior Design in Bali and trained in painting, drawing, sculpture, and carpentry at Arte Moris Free Art School in Dili. In 2025, he held his first solo exhibition and has participated in group exhibitions at Fundação Oriente, AMRT, Galeria Memória Viva, and the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art in Darwin. His work also includes public murals and illustration projects addressing social justice, inclusion, and environmental issues. Agau teaches drawing and painting at Arte Moris, contributing to the development of emerging artists.
