Jasmina Cibic

Jasmina Cibic (Ljubljana, 1979) is a Slovenian artist whose work spans performance, installation, and film to explore how national identities are constructed through culture. She lives and works in London. Her practice investigates the ideological use of soft power in architecture and art. Cibic studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and earned an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2013, she represented Slovenia at the 55th Venice Biennale with For Our Economy and Culture. Works such as Spielraum (2015) and The Pavilion (2015) reconstruct political discourses using archival texts, set designs, and historic state architecture. Her work blends institutional critique, cultural policy, and collective memory through a cinematic and research-driven approach.
