Erika Ewel
Erika Ewel (b. 1970, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia) is a visual artist based in La Paz, known for her exploration of memory, gender, and identity through drawing, painting, textiles, and installation. With a Master's in Visual Arts from UNAM (Mexico) and a background in drawing and art pedagogy, she has developed a prolific solo and group exhibition record across Latin America, the U.S., and Europe. Her works have been shown at the IX Cuenca Biennial, SIART, MOLAA (USA), Museo Nacional de Arte (Bolivia), and the WTA Biennial. A multi-award-winning artist, Ewel engages with themes of the body, domesticity, and political history through layered visual languages. Her work is part of collections such as MOLAA (USA), MNA (Bolivia), and the World Bank.
