Caterina Morigi

Caterina Morigi (Ravenna, 1991) is an Italian contemporary artist based in Bologna. She studied Visual Arts at Università IUAV di Venezia and Fine Arts at Paris 8 – Saint Denis. Her practice focuses on the material transformations of matter, examining its subtle and often hidden qualities. Through installations, sculptures, and images, she observes how time affects both the surface and depth of forms. Morigi develops a close, analytical approach that keeps each work connected to its physical processes and to the surrounding space from which it emerges. Her research identifies visual correspondences between the human and the natural, activating conceptual flows between art history, technology, and geological processes. She frequently collaborates with universities, archives, researchers, and specialized craft workshops. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna, Palazzo Reale (Milan), Museo Nazionale della Montagna (Turin), Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (Venice), and MAR - Museo d'Arte della Città di Ravenna.
